Wavecrest can be reached by road, via Butterworth where the newly tarred Centani road leads to the Wavecrest turnoff. You may refer to the map for directions and may also be advised to contact the hotel prior to your departure to ascertain the condition of the road surface at the time.

As at June 2007, the road is reasonable, but caution should be exercised by those who are not familiar with the road, as there are a few very bad patches.

An advisable alternative is to fly or drive to East London and to arrange a fly-in with East London Air Service, Tel 043-7361663. This removes the difficulties of Transkei roads and provides a wonderfully scenic approach to your favourite destination.
