	ECO-VENTURES Wavecrest Eco-ventures provides conservation- orientated courses for people of all ages. Our study area is situated 160 kilometres north of East London on the Wild coast. This region is rich in a variety of eco-systems, and lends itself to opportunities for learning that are exceptional and fun. Accommodation is in the comfortable Wavecrest Hotel and there are excellent facilities for water sports and fishing. Course Structure We have developed courses that effectively promote ecological awareness and ecological ethics; each course is adapted for grades 4 - 12 and for adult groups. Each course is designed to make the process of learning hands-on and fun. We have ensured that the learning materials reflect our holistic approach and are outcomes-based. Book learning has been cut to a minimum and we have structured exercises that lead the participant on a road of discovery and skills' development. The course runs for five days and allows the group to experience each of the diverse learning environments found in the area. We allow time for leisure, craft making and exploration.
